Uganda; 8 Nights

The beautiful Central African country of Uganda is one of the continent's most surprising. It is best known for its population of mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park but has many other wildlife experiences to offer. You'll visit the Kibale Forest Reserve to track chimpanzees in the wild, Queen Elizabeth National Park and at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park bed down at the luxurious Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp which is your base for gorilla tracking. Inquisitive primates even pay the lodge a visit on occasion.

Day 1: Arrive Entebbe
Arrive into Entebbe where you are transferred privately to your hotel.
The Boma (Standard Room)

Day 2: Entebbe - Kibale National Park
This morning depart Entebbe for the full day drive (6 hours) to Kibale National Park in the west of the country. Set against the backdrop of Lake Kyaninga and the mystical Rwenzori Mountains, Kibale has one of the highest diversity and concentration of primates in Africa. It is home to a large number of endangered chimpanzees, as well as the red colobus monkey and the rare L'Hoest's monkey (B,L,D).
Kyaninga Lodge (Cottage)

Day 3: Kibale National Park
Kibale is one of Africa's premier destinations for chimpanzee tracking. Today you head out with your tracker in search of these fascinating creatures. Other activities include walks to the crater and swamp. The forest is also home to over 300 species of birds, with six endemic to the park, and other mammals including leopard, rare forest elephants, buffalo, giant forest hog and half a dozen species of antelope (B,L,D).
Kyaninga Lodge (Cottage)

Day 4: Kibale - Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive south (4 hours) to Queen Elizabeth National Park and your camp. Ishasha Wilderness Camp is located in a remote and exclusive part of the park. The game density here is high and it supports some of the largest herds of elephant in Uganda. There is prolific plains game and a good number of predators (B,L,D).
Ishasha Wilderness Camp (Tent)

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park
At Ishasha you will enjoy day and night drives through the park. Resident wildlife here includes Spotted hyena, leopard, hippo, elephant, buffalo, waterbuck and tree climbing lion (B,L,D).
Ishasha Wilderness Camp (Tent)

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth - Bwindi
This morning continue south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive at your luxury camp, located in the rainforest on a mountainside in the park (B,L,D).
Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp (Tent)

Days 7-8: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi is home to many primates including colobus monkeys and chimpanzees, but is most notable for its population of the critically-endangered mountain gorilla. Spend the next two days trekking through the forest to locate one of the four habituated gorilla families. The walk is demanding, up and down steep forested slopes and through thick jungle vegetation, but sighting the gorillas in the undergrowth is an inspiring moment! Spend time observing the family as they interact with each other, play and forage (B,L,D).
Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp (Tent)

Day 9 Bwindi - Entebbe
Transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Entebbe and onward connections (B,L).
