MC Athala II's size and speed gives the ability to travel further and visit more islands with stunning wildlife to be seen at every site.
Excursions ashore by motorised dingy (locally called pangas) are planned with the naturalist guide with wet and dry landings featured. There is opportunity for hiking, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking (at designated sites with limited numbers), bird watching and great close-up photography of the flora and fauna which make these islands so famous. Although sightings are not guaranteed, with a keen eye and some luck you may see some whales during your cruise, especially between June and September.
The naturalist guide gives nightly lectures about the islands, in addition to briefings on the next day's activities.

Some of the wildlife which guests can expect to see includes Galapagos tortoise, land and marine iguanas, sea turtles, the brightly coloured Sally Lightfoot Crab, fur seals, sea lions, seven types of dolphin, various species of whales and profuse birdlife such as the blue footed booby, frigate birds and albatross.
