Day 2 - Mumbai - Kanha National Park
A transfer from your Mumbai hotel to the airport for the flight* north-east to Nagpur. On arrival you are met and transferred by road 5.5 hours to Kanha National Park and your luxury tented camp, Banjaar Tola. Kanha is a Project Tiger reserve and the inspiration for Kipling's 'The Jungle Book' and one of the largest in the country. Banjaar Tola has a heavenly location on the Banjaar River with 18 tented suites divided between two intimate camps. There are bamboo floors, canvas roof and walls and glass doors leading out onto a floating verandah overlooking the river. There's a swimming pool on site also. (B,L,D).
Banjaar Tola Tented Camp (Cottage)

Day 3 - Kanha National Park
Kanha has beautiful areas of Sal forest, large bamboo stretches and lush green meadows and boasts outstanding wildlife including good numbers of tiger, leopard, jackal, striped hyena, the highly endangered barasingha (swamp deer) and over 200 recorded bird species. Today, enjoy twice daily game viewing opportunities (choose from 4WD, elephant back or guided walks) (B,L,D).
Banjaar Tola Tented Camp (Cottage)

Day 4 - Kanha - Bandhavgarh
Today, transfer to Bandhavgarh National Park, approximately 5-6 hours covering 240km. Bandhavgarh supports one of the highest densities of tigers in India. Its hilly open terrain includes many large grassland meadows that offer good chances of tiger sightings. The density of its big cat population has made Bandhavgarh world famous. A late afternoon game activity is included (B,L,D).
Mahua Kothi Jungle Lodge (Standard Room)

Days 5 - 6 - Bandhavgarh National Park
Two days spent exploring beautiful Bandhavgarh with twice-daily safaris in the reserve on elephant-back, 4WD or on foot. Mahua Kothi is an intimate 12 suite lodge which sprawls over 40 acres with private courtyards, shaded seating and traditional mud floors. En suite bathrooms are dreamy and there are bikes for exploring the area and a swimming pool.

The guest areas are delightful with high ceilings, terracotta floor tiles, overhead fans, an inviting fireplace and a good choice of places to relax. The open kitchen welcomes guests upon arrival - watch butter being churned, Masala being ground by hand, garden fresh vegetables being chopped using traditional sickles, and Roti's being prepared on a Chulha. Browse peacefully in the lodge's Safari Shop, idle away the hours in the library or beat the midday heat in the swimming pool (B,L,D).

Day 7 - Banghavgarh - Khajuraho
A long drive today from Bandhavgarh to Khajuraho, approximately 6 hours - 260 km (B).
The Lalit (Garden View Room)

Day 8 - Khajuraho - Delhi
Khajuraho is world renowned for its temple architecture. The famous sculptures in the sandstone temples dating to the Chandela dynasty, which ended in the 10th century, are exceptional and are widely acknowledged as some of the most exquisite temple art in India. First visit the Western group which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and constitutes some of the finest examples of Chandela art. Continue to the Eastern Group which comprises two historic Jain temples. Afterwards a flight* to Delhi where you will be met and transferred to the international airport for your onward flight, and our arrangements end (B).

*Flights not included.

Note: This is a suggested itinerary for game viewing in central India. Other lodge combinations are available.
