Best time to travel

December - March, July - October

Kenya's equatorial location ensures warm weather year round, though it can be cool at night and first thing in the morning. There are two rain seasons, the long rains occur from April to June and short rains from October to December. The rainfall is sometimes heavy and when it does come it often falls in the afternoons and evenings. The hottest period is from February to March and coldest in July to August.

Days 2 - 3 - Lake Victoria
Two days to enjoy this remarkable location. The lake is rich in fish and bird life, its islands lush and its shores lined with groves of banana trees and fishing villages where smiling faces abound. Enjoy the many activities on offer, relax on your terrace or take a leisurely swim.

Mfangano Island Camp has just six cottages situated right on the lakeshore, each built in the Luo tribal style with banana thatch and natural clay. Views across the lake are spectacular with picturesque dhows sailing by. From the dining and lounge area, sit and enjoy the life of the lake as it goes by. There is also a lovely horizon swimming pool right on the lakeshore (B,L,D).
