Day 01 Arrive Nairobi
An A&K welcome to Kenya! Transfer to the hotel and later join your safari companions and escort for a welcome dinner (D).

Day 02 Nairobi – Lewa
This morning transfer to the airport for your charter flight to Lewa Downs. Lewa Downs is a private conservancy of more than 50,000 acres located at the foot of Mt Kenya. This afternoon enjoy a game drive (B,L,D).

Day 03 Lewa
Today you can choose between a variety of escorted excursions: game drives on the conservancy, local bush walks or horseback riding. There is some magnificent country to be explored on the flat and in the hills and horse riding is the perfect way to get right amongst the plains game: literally a few feet away from browsing giraffe, zebra and eland. Wildlife at Lewa includes elephant, reticulated giraffe, eland, lion, leopard, cheetah, Burchell’s and Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, greater kudu, Grant’s gazelle, impala, gerenuk, bushbuck, dikdik and many others. The conservancy is one of Kenya’s Rhino Sanctuaries and protects more than 20 black and 20 white rhino (B,L,D).
Lewa Wilderness Lodge
Day 04 Lewa – Ngorongoro
This morning depart Lewa for your flight via Nairobi to Kilimanjaro. Farewell Kenya and ‘Jambo’ Tanzania! On arrival you are met and transferred to your onward charter flight to Manyara. On arrival continue by road to Ngorongoro Crater where camp staff await (B,L,D).

Day 05 Ngorongoro
The spectacular Ngorongoro Crater is home to around 30,000 animals with a high concentration of predators. Descend the steep escarpment to the crater floor for a half day game viewing with a picnic lunch. A chance to experience Maasai culture today when you visit the local Village and enjoy some spirited Maasai dancing by the campfire tonight (B,L,D).

Day 06 Ngorongoro – Olduvai Gorge – Serengeti
Continue further north-west to the Serengeti National Park stopping en route at Olduvai Gorge, commonly referred to as the ‘Cradle of Mankind’. It was here in 1959 that Mary and Louis Leakey uncovered a 1.8 million year old hominid skull. Descend with your guide into the gorge to observe the dig sites and witness current works. From the gorge drive to the shifting sands, a mound of black volcanic ash that has been pushed by the prevailing winds. The game adventure resumes as you leave behind the volcanic plains and drive into the vast wilderness of the world famous Serengeti National Park. A lodge stop tonight while the mobile camp relocates (B,L,D).
Serengeti Serena Lodge
Days 07 – 08 Serengeti National Park
This morning transfer to your luxury camp and spend the next two days exploring the vast and varied landscapes of the Serengeti. Your game drives may reveal sightings of giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra and gazelle, as well as the predatory lion, leopard and cheetah. The Serengeti is the site of the annual migration when an astounding number of herbivores trek across the plains in search of green grass and water closely followed by a host of predators (seasonal) (B,L,D).

Day 09 Serengeti – Masai Mara
This morning transfer to the airport for your flight via Kilimanjaro and Nairobi to the Masai Mara. On arrival transfer to your luxury camp (B,L,D).

Days 10 – 11 Masai Mara
The next two days are spent exploring the Masai Mara. Game viewing is never dull here and patience is often rewarded with unique sightings - a pride of lion stalking its prey; a solitary leopard retrieving its kill from the high branches of an acacia tree; male impala sparring to attract females into their harem or even a herd of elephant protecting their young from opportunistic predators. Over the next two days you explore the vast rolling plains with your safari escort on early morning and late afternoon game drives. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the AKP Tree Planting Project. A visit to the neighbouring Maasai village is also an option (B,L,D).
Olonana
Day 12 Masai Mara – Nairobi
Return flight to Nairobi where you will have day use at the House of Waine before your international departure (B,L).

Nights Under Canvas
In the Ngorongoro and Serengeti you will stay in A&K’s luxury mobile camps, where you private tent is set up as close as possible to the predicted area of prime game activity. Your large veranda fronted tents are furnished with beds complete with cotton sheets, a dressing table, wash basin and ensuite shower and toilet. Wake up with a steaming hot drink brought to your tent by your personal butler as you watch the game grazing in front of you. A typical morning A&K style!
