Day 1 Arrive Windhoek
You will be welcomed to the capital of Namibia and transferred privately to your hotel.
Olive Grove Guest House (Standard Room)
Day 2 Windhoek – Sossusvlei
An exciting day as your journey begins with a light aircraft flight south into the private 37,000 hectare Kulala Wilderness Reserve - the gateway to Namibia's Sand Sea with its towering dunes and clear starry skies. Here you will find desert-adapted wildlife such as ostrich, springbok and gemsbok, sparsely distributed around Little Kulala. Smaller creatures such as bat-eared fox and aardwolf can be seen at night in the cool desert air. One bird, the aptly named dune lark, has its entire global distribution limited to the area, so dependent is it on the area's characteristic sands (B,L,D).
Little Kulala (Thatched Kulala)
Day 3 Sossusvlei
Activities start with a morning guided drive to the spectacular towering dunes of Sossusvlei, through a private gate into the reserve. Sossusvlei is situated within the Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world, which itself is part of the Namib Naukluft National Park that stretches 400km south of Walvis Bay and is sandwiched between the west coast and the escarpment that runs parallel more than 100km inland. Its huge dunes and flat valleys make up the archetypical view of the Namib that is world famous. Guided drives and walks are also offered on the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve with incredible views, desert-adapted wildlife and plants (B,L,D).
Little Kulala (Thatched Kulala)
Day 4 Sossusvlei – Damaraland
This morning, a flight delivers you to the coastal town of Swakopmund where a gourmet seafood lunch will prime you for the afternoon adventure. Rejoin your aircraft for a scenic flight over the spectacular Skeleton Coast and on to Damaraland. Your camp is located in possibly the most pristine wilderness area in Namibia, the Huab River Valley. Boasting panoramic vistas of stark plains, ancient valleys and the soaring inselberg of the Brandberg Mountains (B,L,D).
Damaraland Camp (Tent)
Day 5 Damaraland
The day is yours to explore this rugged landscape. Choose from the following activities: Morning and afternoon game drives in search of desert-adapted elephant. Gemsbok, greater kudu, springbok, and occasionally lion, cheetah and black rhino can be spotted too. Or view some of Africa's best known rock engravings, including the famous Twyfelfontein etchings, and have the opportunity to see desert flora along the way including euphorbias and shepherd's trees (B,L,D).
Damaraland Camp (Tent)
Day 6 Damaraland – Ongava Game Reserve
Today’s fight takes you to your camp for the next two nights. Located in the much-lauded Ongava Game Reserve to the south of the Etosha National Park, it overlooks a nearby waterhole where a plethora of wildlife congregates to drink. Etosha National Park is Namibia's premier wildlife destination and one of Africa's largest game reserves. In dry season large herds of wildlife teem around the waterholes and the endless plains offer breathtaking vistas. The Ongava Game Reserve shares a boundary with the Etosha National Park. (B,L,D).
Ongava Tented Camp (Tent)
Day 7 Etosha National Park
Activities revolve around day and night drives, visiting hides that overlook waterholes and walks with experienced guides. The Ongava Game Reserve features much of the characteristic wildlife of the area, with both desert-adapted black and white rhino to be seen as well as lion. Game drives and daytrips into the easily accessible Okaukuejo area of Etosha National Park are rewarding, with possible sightings of lion, elephant, gemsbok, springbok, red hartebeest, and white and black rhino. The Ongava Game Reserve is unique in that it is one of the few private game reserves in southern Africa where there is a chance of seeing both black and white rhino. For those who enjoy close wildlife encounters, tracking white rhino on foot with a guide is a highlight not to be missed (B,L,D).
Ongava Tented Camp (Tent)
Day 8 Etosha National Park – Windhoek
Return by light aircraft to Windhoek, where you say farewell to Namibia (B).
This safari is usually accommodated at Ongava Tented Camp, however, can be substituted by Ongava Lodge. Likewise Desert Rhino Camp can be used instead of Damaraland Camp.
