Days 03 – 04 Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi is home to many primates including colobus monkeys and chimpanzees but is most notable for its population of the critically endangered mountain gorilla. Spend the next two days trekking through the forest to locate one of the four habituated gorilla families. The walk is demanding, up and down steep forested slopes and through thick jungle vegetation before finally sighting the gorillas in the undergrowth - an inspiring moment! Spend time in observation as they interact with each other, play and forage for food (B,L,D).

Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp, Uganda
Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is a permanent luxury tented camp nestled on a mountainside in the mist-swathed rainforests in the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The exclusive location – one of just two properties within the park’s boundaries – makes it the ideal base for gorilla tracking, primate viewing and birding excursions in the park. Gorilla Forest Camp has been designed to blend seamlessly into this most atmospheric of environments. Accommodation is in eight double tents, raised on wooden platforms, each with en-suite facilities and unusually a bathtub looking out onto the forest. Each tent has a spacious wooden veranda where guests can relax, enjoy a private meal and absorb the tranquillity of the surrounding rainforest.
