Day 1 Arrive Entebbe

Arrive at Entebbe airport, where you will be met by a representative of A&K and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel located on the shores of Lake Victoria. Called the ‘Pearl of Africa’, Uganda is one of the most beautiful countries on the continent and home to half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
Lake Victoria Serena Hotel (Standard Room)

Day 2 Entebbe

This morning visit the Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust. Among the leaders in chimpanzee focused environmental conservation, they care for rescued chimps, contribute to public awareness and understanding of conservation issues and engage with communities living alongside chimpanzee populations. Here you will experience a rare and incredible opportunity to view chimpanzees while helping to conserve their precious habitat and contribute to the conservation of their species. Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you will be directed to the visitor’s centre where you will be given an introduction to the project, its history, the residents and their plight. You will also receive an educational orientation by a chimpanzee caregiver. Return to your hotel for the afternoon and overnight (B).

Day 3 Entebbe – Bwindi

This morning, transfer to the nearby airstrip for your flight southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On arrival you will be transferred to your luxury camp, located in rainforest on a mountainside in the park - inquisitive primates even pay the lodge a rare visit on occasions (B,L,D)!

Days 4 – 5 Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi is home to many primates including colobus monkeys and chimpanzees, but is most notable for its population of the critically-endangered mountain gorilla. Spend the next two days trekking through the forest to locate one of the four habituated gorilla families. The walk is demanding, up and down steep forested slopes and through thick jungle vegetation, but finally sighting the gorillas in the undergrowth is an inspiring moment! Spend time in observation as they interact with each other, play and search for food (B,L,D).
Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp (Tent)

Day 6 Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you will transfer north to Queen Elizabeth National Park, and your camp. Ishasha Wilderness Camp is located in a remote and exclusive part of the park. The game density here is high and it supports some of the largest herds of elephant in Uganda. There is prolific plains game and a good number of predators (B,L,D).
Ishasha Wilderness Camp (Tent)

Day 7 Queen Elizabeth National Park

At Ishasha, you will enjoy day and night drives through the park. Resident wildlife here includes Spotted hyena, leopard, hippo, elephant, buffalo, waterbuck and a large population of lion (B,L,D).
Ishasha Wilderness Camp (Tent)

Day 8 Queen Elizabeth N.P. - Entebbe

Transfer to the airport this morning for your flight to Entebbe and onwards for your departure flight (B,L).

Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp, Uganda

Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is a permanent luxury tented camp nestled on a mountainside in the mist-swathed rainforests in the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The exclusive location – one of just two properties within the park’s boundaries – makes it the ideal base for gorilla tracking, primate viewing and birding excursions in the park. Gorilla Forest Camp has been designed to blend seamlessly into this most atmospheric of environments. Accommodation is in eight double tents, raised on wooden platforms, each with en suite facilities and unusually a bathtub looking out onto the forest. Each tent has a spacious wooden veranda where guests can relax, enjoy a private meal and absorb the tranquillity of the surrounding rainforest.
