Day 1 Arrive Muscat
Welcome to the hidden gem of Arabia! Private transfer to your hotel, situated on a sandy cove surrounded by the dark and majestic Hajar Mountains.

Day 2 Muscat
Today, enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of the enchanting port city of Muscat, beginning with the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a religious landmark and splendid example of Islamic architecture. Visit Bait Al Zubair, formerly a private home and now a showcase for traditional Omani crafts and culture, and the prestigious Bait Muzna gallery. The remainder of the day is at leisure (B).

Day 3 Muscat-Sur-Ras Al Jinz
Drive south-eastward along the stunning coast dotted with white beaches and coves of turquoise waters. En route you will wind your way through the mountains to visit Wadi Arbayeen. After a picnic lunch, continue your journey to Sur, a coastal town where Arabian ocean-going dhows are still built in the traditional manner. This evening, in Ras Al Jinz, visit the nearby turtle-nesting area where, in the company of a ranger, you can watch the sea turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs (B,L,D).

Day 4 Ras Al Jinz-Wahiba Sands
This morning, return to Sur and visit the dhow yards to observe the construction of these traditional Arabic vessels. Enjoy lunch before departing for the Wahiba Sands. As you enter the Wahiba Sands, stop to visit the local Bedouins, and enjoy a cup of traditional Arabic coffee, the welcome drink of the Middle East. Overnight stay at a Bedouin-style camp (B,L,D).

Day 5 Wahiba Sands – Jebel Shams – Nizwa
Today’s journey takes you to the rugged interior and Jebel Shams: at over 3000m, it is the highest mountain of the Jebel Al Akhdar range. The gravel road leading to Jebel Shams traverses some spectacular scenery. From the top, there is an almost vertical drop to the wadi floor 1000m below. In Al Hamra, stroll through a date farm and observe ancient falaj irrigation systems still in use. After lunch at the Bait Al Safa Museum, continue to Nizwa, the former capital of Oman (B,L).

Day 6 Nizwa – Al Bahla – Jabrin – Muscat
Begin the day by exploring spectacular Nizwa Fort, constructed by Sultan bin Saif in 1660, and the city’s souk, which is renowned for its silver, brass and copper craftsmanship. Before returning to Muscat, visit the village of Bahla, known for its pottery and indigo-dyeing, and Jabrin Castle. Your Oman adventure ends with a transfer to the airport (B,L).
