Day 01 Arrive Rome
Ciao Roma! An A&K welcome to the ‘Eternal City’ and private transfer to the hotel.

Day 02 Rome
Today you are introduced to the historic, cultural and archaeological attractions of Italy’s capital. Visit the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. There are also visits to the Roman Forum and Colosseum as well as some of the lesser known sights such as the Pantheon and Castel Sant’Angelo (B).

Day 03 Rome-Siena-San Gimignano-Florence
Travel by road to Siena and visit one of the finest main squares in Italy, the Piazza del Campo which is surrounded by 13th and 14th century palazzi. Visit also the Duomo, Siena’s medieval cathedral containing many valuable pieces of art including works by Bernini and the young Michelangelo. The frescoes by Pinturicchio in the Piccolomini Library are a highlight. Continue on through the Tuscan hills to San Gimignano and then to Florence (B).

Day 04 Florence
This morning a walking tour introduces you to the beautiful and romantic Tuscan capital widely considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Start with the Duomo, the city’s famous cathedral with the much photographed dome by Brunelleschi, and the Uffizi Gallery, one of the finest in the world. If time permits, visit the church of Santa Croce. The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure (B).

Day 05 Design Your Day Florence
A favourite of artists and writers over the centuries Florence is a romantic city of bridges, cobbled streets, medieval piazzas and churches with much to see. Tailor your own perfect day in Florence. Choose two of the following activities. Explore the city’s rich cultural heritage with a visit to the Bargello Museum where a fine collection of Renaissance sculptures are housed, including Michelangelo’s Bacchus and Donatello’s bronze David. Or discover one of Florence’s hidden gems with a tour of the Brancacci Frescoes at the church of Santa Maria del Carmine. Or for ice-cream lovers visit one of the most well know gelaterias with your Guardian Angel for tasting and sneak a look behind the scenes at how the ice-cream is made according to artisan traditions. Or perhaps you would like to visit the palace of one of Florence’s ancient noble families where you will be welcomed by the Count, a renowned historian, and have a private tour of his stately home (B).

Day 06 Florence-Venice
Enjoy A&K’s Concierge Rail service as you travel by train north to Venice, one of the world’s most beautiful cities. A private motor launch takes you to your choice of hotel. The afternoon is at leisure to explore this dazzling city (B).

Day 07 Venice
A walking tour of Venice takes you to St. Mark's Basilica, with its rich decoration of marble and golden mosaics and the Doge's Palace, filled with artworks by the greatest Venetian artists including Veronese and Tintoretto. The afternoon is at leisure. Later today a special treat with a private after hours visit to view the illuminated mosaics of St. Mark’s Basilica (B).

Day 08 Depart Venice
Arrivederci Italia as you transfer by private motor launch to Venice airport (B).
