Day 1 Arrive Lisbon
A&K welcome to the Portuguese capital, where you will be met by your Guardian Angel and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Lisbon
Full day in Lisbon with private guide and vehicle. Lying north of the River Tagus estuary and spread over a series of seven hills, Lisbon has much to offer. Visit the magnificent Jeronimo’s Monastery, the splendid Coach Museum in the Belem Royal Palace and the priceless treasures of the Gulbenkian Museum, many purchased from The Hermitage in St. Petersburg in the 1920s (B).

Day 3 Lisbon – Queluz – Sintra – Lisbon
Enjoy a full day exploring the Monserrate Palace and Sintra. On arrival at Monserrate you will be privately guided by an experienced botanist through the wonderful gardens of the palace. Continue to the town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site once popular as the summer residence of Portuguese kings and aristocrats. See the National Palace of Sintra, a former royal residence characterised by a variety of architectural styles and rich interior decoration (B).

Day 4 Lisbon – Obidos – Alcobaca – Batalha – Coimbra
Drive to Coimbra via Obidos, Alcobbaca and Batalha. The whitewashed medieval town of Obidos is considered by many to be Portugal’s most beautiful. Afterwards you will visit the Abbey of Alcobaca, the largest church in the country, and the 14th-century Abbey of Batalha, whose intricate honey-coloured exterior belies an interior of graceful charm (B).

Day 5 Coimbra – Porto
This morning, enjoy a short walking tour of this attractive university town with its Old Cathedral Cloister and Library. Afterwards, you will be driven to Porto to spend the afternoon exploring the city, gloriously located on a steep hillside above the River Douro. Visit the Cais da Ribeira, the quayside of the fascinating Ribeira district, and some of the city’s most beautiful monuments including the opulent 19th-century Stock Exchange, the cathedral and Bishop’s Palace (B).

Day 6 Porto – Vila Real – Porto
Explore the history of Porto’s famous wine in one of its celebrated Port Houses before continuing on to Vila Real, where you will visit the Solar de Mateus, an exceptional Baroque mansion dating from the mid-18th century (B).

Day 7 Depart Porto
Transfer by private car to Porto airport, where your journey ends (B).
