Day 01 Arrive Lisbon
A&K welcome to the Portuguese capital and private transfer to your hotel.

Day 02 Lisbon
Full day in Lisbon with private guide and vehicle. Lying north of the River Tagus estuary and spread over a series of seven hills, Lisbon has much to offer. Visit the magnificent Jeronimo’s Monastery, the splendid coach Museum in the Belem Royal Palace and the priceless treasures of the Gulbenkian Museum, many purchased from The Hermitage in St. Petersburg in the 1920s (B).

Day 03 Lisbon – Queluz – Sintra – Lisbon
Enjoy a full day exploring Monserrate and Sintra. On arrival at Monserrate you will enjoy a private tour with an experienced botanist through the wonderful gardens of the Palace. Continue on to the town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and once popular as the summer residence of Portuguese kings and aristocrats. See the National Palace of Sintra, a former Royal residence, with a variety of architectural styles and interior decoration (B).

Day 04 Lisbon – Obidos – Alcobaca – Batalha – Coimbra
Drive to Coimbra via Obidos, Alcobbaca and Batalha. The whitewashed medieval town of Obidos is considered by many to be Portugal’s most beautiful. Afterwards you will visit the Abbey of Alcobaca, the largest church in the country, and the 14th century Abbey of Batalha whose honey-coloured exterior belies an interior of graceful charm (B).

Day 05 Coimbra – Porto
This morning enjoy a short walking tour of this attractive university town with its Old Cathedral Cloister and library. Afterwards you will be driven to Porto with the afternoon to explore the city with its glorious location on a steep hillside above the River Douro. Visit the Cais da Ribeira, the quayside of the fascinating Ribeira district, and some of the city’s most beautiful monuments including the opulent 19th century Stock Exchange, the cathedral and Bishop’s Palace (B).

Day 06 Porto – Vila Real – Porto
Today you will visit one of the famous Port houses before continuing on to Vila Real where you will visit the Solar de Mateus, an exceptional Baroque mansion dating from the mid-18th century (B). Porto (Choice of accommodation)
Day 07 Depart Porto
Private car transfer to Porto airport where your journey ends (B).
