Baisaki Festival, Amritsar

Usually held on the 14th of April each year, the Baisaki Festival marks the arrival of the harvesting season and is celebrated with lots of enthusiasm and gaiety by the Sikh people especially in the state of Punjab. In Amritsar, street fairs are organised along with other recreational activities including dancing, drumming and wrestling! The celebration is held in honour and thanks to God for the annual crop and for a bumper harvest next year.
