Journalist Wins Award for Nomads of the Sea Story

Abercrombie & Kent congratulates journalist, Alistair Smith, for his recent achievement at the Australian Society of Travel Writers Awards. Alistair was commended for his work in journalism recieving the 'Best International Story over 1000 Words' for a piece appearing in the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age based on his A&K trip to Chile in 2007 on the fishing Expedition 'Nomads of the Seas'. Congratulations Alistair on this outstanding achievement!


Abercrombie & Kent host IN-House charity screening at The Electric Cinema, Portobello Road, London

Geoffrey Kent, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of luxury travel company, Abercrombie & Kent, and Katrina Pavlos, founder of the IN-House Series, hosted a charity screening of ‘Un Coeur en Hiver’, introduced by Mr. Jeremy Irons on Tuesday 7 October. Celebrating the launch of Abercrombie & Kent’s ‘Extreme Adventures’- created for the traveller ready to meet a different kind of challenge – Geoffrey Kent donated a once-in-a-lifetime $16,500 A&K Extreme Adventure prize package, won by James Bond star, Simon Kassianides’ guest at the event, Berber Krop.

The Extreme Adventure will see Berber, accompanied by Geoffrey Kent, following the Trail of the Polar Bear as part of an extraordinary 9-day escorted tour, experiencing the pristine wilderness of the Nordic polar region. As a part of Abercrombie & Kent’s ongoing global philanthropy programme, all proceeds from the evening were kindly donated to FilmAid International.
