Day 01 Alice Springs

A&K private greeting and transfer on arrival. After settling in to your accommodation, be taken on a visit the Aruluen Centre showcasing contemporary Aboriginal art. Containing a rotating selection of permanent Aboriginal art created over the last 30 years, this space encourages important understanding of the scope and meaning of indiginous art in to the surrounding landscape and its people (L,D).

Day 02 Alice Springs

This morning meet the traditional owners of Mparntwe (Alice Springs), the Arrernte people, at the Aboriginal Art & Cultural Centre. This afternoon visit local art hubs including Papunya Tula Artist's Co-operative,  Gallery Gondwana and Watiywanu Artists of Amunturrunyu Corp. Enjoy this rare opportunity to interact with indiginous communities and renowned local artists in their own work environment. Arrernte people continue to teach their children the Arrernte language and the importance of culture. Some of the first Dreaming stories ever recorded were those of the Arrernte people of Central Australia (B,L,D).

Day 03 Alice Springs – Yuendumu – Balgo Hills – Halls Creek

After breakfast depart by private air to Yuendumu for an exclusive visit to the 20 year old Warlukurlangu Art Centre. Representing over 160 Warlpiri and Anmatjerre artists, the centre is owned by the Aboriginal community and sells brightly coloured, often dot-style paintings. After lunch continue on to the Balgo Hills, a remote Aboriginal community on the edge of the vast Kimberley region. Here, the painters are considered to be some of the most daringly innovative of Central  Austrlaia, their art demonstrating a strong link to the land with vivid use of colour and iconic imagery. Continue on to Halls Creek for an evening to remember (B,L,D).

Day 04 Halls Creek – Bullo River Station

This morning visit an Aboriginal community at Turkey Creek, the Warmun Art Centre, home to renowned ochre painters. Board your private plane and fly over the Bungle Bungles to Bullo River Station in the remote north-western corner of the Northern Territory. This vast property is not only home to around 9,000 Brahman-cross cattle but also a stunning variety of local fauna including wallabies, dingos, wild buffalo, a myriad of native and migratory birds, fish and the omnipresent crocodile. Relax and enjoy the day, meeting and chatting with the owners of this famous outback cattle station (B,L,D).

Day 05 Bullo River Station – Dariwn

Today continue to Darwin to explore the melting pot of culture that defines this unique city. Visit the Museum and Art Gallery of Northern Territory and the Gallery of Indigenous Art. Enjoy dinner on the foreshore (B,L,D).

Day 06 Depart Darwin

A final morning to explore this culturally diverse city before ending your exclusive tour (B,L).

Aboriginal Australia's Art

Enjoy the fantastic Sophie Ullin as your guide. Her relationship with art was nurtured early, joining her father on outback road trips into Aboriginal Australia's art communities. Sophie went on to co-ordinate specialist Aboriginal Fine Art auctions at Deutscher-Menzies Fine Art Auctioneers, becoming Head of Tribal, Aboriginal and Contemporary Art at Sydney's Lawson-Menzies before she returned to the outback to establish her own independent art advisory service.
