Board an overnight flight to Auckland, losing a day crossing the International Dateline.

Day 03 Auckland/Embark MV 'Clipper Odyssey'
Tour Auckland and the surrounding countryside, and after lunch board 'Clipper Odyssey' for a first evening at sea.

Day 04 Bay of Islands, North Island
Cruise to the Bay of Islands and visit the historic Waitang Treaty House, where Maori and European settlers joined to sign the treaty that established New Zealand as a nation. Stroll the quaint streets of Russell, or relax on one of the perfect white sand beaches of Motoruohia Island.

Day 05 At Sea
Join the expedition staff for an informative lecture, relax in the library with a good book or enjoy the fresh air on deck as you watch for marine life and seabirds.

Day 06 Norfolk Island
Visit tiny Norfolk Island, a former Australian and British penal colony and naval depot. Explore the Pitcairn village, settled by the great-granddaughter of 'Bounty' crew member Fletcher Christian, and still inhabited by direct descendants of 'Bounty' crew members.

Day 07 At Sea
Fascinating lectures on the history, culture and natural wonders of the regions of the Coral Sea and the Loyalty Islands continue today.

Day 08 Nouméa, New Caledonia
Explore French-influenced Nouméa: the main shopping center, Place des Cocotiers, the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the aquarium and the award-winning Tjibaou Cultural Center. You have ample time to linger in the shops and streets of this quaint city.

Day 09 Ile des Pins, Loyalty Islands
Andrew Cheyne, the first British sandalwood trader to reach Ile des Pins' shores 165 years ago, wrote in his journal, "such a lovely spot of God's creation". See if you agree when you meet the locals, snorkel or take an outrigger canoe across the lagoon. You may also want to explore the ruins of the convict settlement that housed 2,000 deported prisoners in the 1870s.

Day 10 Ile Lifou, Loyalty Islands
Visit the Mucaweng vanilla plantation on the island of Ile Lifou, climb to the top of Doking Cliffs for a panoramic view of the coral beds in the bay below and browse the local shops. After lunch on board, snorkelers and divers observe some of the most scenic underwater splendors in the South Seas. Others may take in the view from a glass-bottom boat.

Day 11 Ile Ouvea, Loyalty Islands
Cruise to Ouvea, where a white sand beach stretches for more than 15 miles and is lined by fluttering coconut palms.

Day 12 Tanna Island, Vanuatu
As 'Clipper Odyssey' approaches Tanna Island, Mount Yasur, the island's active volcano, comes into view. Walk up the side of the rim to get a look at the pyrotechnic display inside the crater. Examine the islandís rugged coastline; the hot springs on the beaches; and the grey, moon-like landscape of the Ash Plain.

Day 13 Tomman Island, Vanuatu
Go off the beaten track to Tomman Island. This afternoon, land at one of the remote Maskelyne Islands for snorkeling and a village visit.

Day 14 Ambrym Island, Vanuatu
Cruise to Ambrym Island, known for its majestic pair of active volcanoes and large slit-drums. You may witness the famous Rom dance and village welcoming dances.

Day 15 At Sea
The lecture series continues as 'Clipper Odyssey' sails through the islands and atolls of the Tuamotus. Be on deck to spot seabirds and marine life.

Day 16 Yasawa Group, Fiji
Visit the village of Yaqeta and receive a traditional Fijian Bula welcome and a bowl of kava. Go birding with the on-board naturalists, or snorkel or dive off the islandís serene white beaches.

Day 17 Lautoka, Viti Levu, Fiji/USA
Disembark this morning in Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji. You have a hotel dayroom available until this eveningís homebound flight. Cross the International Dateline, arriving on the same day.
