Depart on an overnight flight to Cairns and lose a day crossing the International Dateline.

Day 03 Cairns/Wewak, Papua New Guinea/Embark 'Clipper Odyssey'

Board a charter flight to Wewak, Papua New Guinea, and embark the 'Clipper Odyssey'.

Day 04 At Sea

The 'Clipper Odyssey' lecture series begins today and highlights the adventure to come. Join your naturalists on deck to spot seabirds and marine mammals.

Day 05 Tingwon Island, Papua New Guinea

You are among the few outsiders to set foot on these three isolated islands. Explore in zodiacs and snorkel among large tropical fish, unusual gorgonia fan coral and tridacna clams. Local residents invite you to wander around their village and walk through the tropical jungle.

Day 06 Tabar Islands, Papua New Guinea

Known as canoeists of great prowess, the Tabarian inhabitants are also the originators of highly prized, open-fretwork Malagan carvings, created for traditional ceremonies.

Day 07 Kapingamarangi Atoll

Simple open-air homes of thatch and wood make comfortable dwellings for the friendly islands of Kapingamarangi Atoll. Lecturers and local guides explain Micronesian culture and their view of a truly oceanbased world.

Day 08 Nukuoro Atoll, Pohnpei Group

Visit Nukuroro Atoll, where swaying palms and thatched huts border turquoise seas. Islanders show you how to prepare copra (coconut meat) and guide you through their village. Learn about the local plants: plumeria, crotons, spider lilies and bougainvillea. Divers and snorkelers may see the huma huma, barracuda, wrasse, moray eel and triggerfish.

Day 09 Pohnpei Island, Pohnpei Group

Explore Nan Madol, a series of small, artificial islands linked by a network of canals that is often called the 'Venice of the Pacific'. Join a guide on a nature, birding or botany walk to glimpse the endemic Pohnpei fantail and the Pohnpei flycatcher.

Day 10 Oroluk Lagoon, Pohnpei Group

Visit Oroluk, a Micronesia island that serves as a reserve for large numbers of hawksbill and Pacific green turtle.

Day 11 Chuuk Group

Spend the next two days exploring the Western Chuuks, whose inhabitants are known for their colorful time-honored dances and finely made handicrafts.

Day 12 Satawal, Yap

Travel to Satawal, home to some of the most skilled traditional navigators in the world. This afternoon, dive, snorkel, or go on birding or botany walks with your expedition experts.

Day 13 Ifaluk Atoll, Yap

The islanders perform traditional dances and escort you around their village to celebrate your visit.

Day 14 Gaferut Atoll, Yap

Gaferut is a tiny, shimmering island that rises out of an azure sea. Birders can expect to see three species of booby, two species of noddy and three species of tern. There's an opportunity to snorkel from the Zodiacs.

Day 15 Guam/USA

Disembark 'Clipper Odyssey' for a sightseeing tour of Guam with lunch, then transfer to your hotel.

Your homebound flight departs just after midnight, arriving in the U.S. tonight.
