The Bungle Bungles
Rising 300m above the arid Kimberley landscape the sandstone domes of the Bungle Bungles are one of the world’s most fascinating geological landmarks. Even so they were only discovered by white Australians in the mid 1980’s, subsequently the area became known as Purnululu National Park (meaning sandstone).
The very best way to see and appreciate the sheer scale of the range is to take a low-level helicopter flight over inaccessible and fragile areas.
Faraway Bush Camp
Located on the north-west corner of the Australian continent is this truly unique retreat, nestled on a rocky hilltop overlooking the Timor Sea, in the remote Kimberley Region. With a maximum of twelve guests at any time privacy is ensured. Not surprisingly, Faraway Bay is popular with couples and honeymooners. Enclosed cabins have an 'open air feeling', linen, beach towels, light and fan, torches, toiletries, insect repellent and sunblock. Six cabins have ensuites and all cabins serviced daily by request.
