Day 05 Design Your Day Bamurru Plains

Today is at leisure to relax or participate in the daily activities at Bamurru Plains: cruise on the Sampan River; go on a wildlife drive; enjoy a guided bush walk or adventure on a wetland airboat trip. The floodplain wetlands of the Mary River catchment are a key natural feature of this area, home to thousands of Magpie Geese, Plumed Whistling-Duck, Egrets, Ibis and a host of other birds. A morning trip out on the plains in an airboat is an exhilarating way to experience this environment. On a wildlife drive you may encounter species including Agile Wallabies, Antilopine Wallaroos, Dingos, Estuarine Crocodiles, wild pigs and buffalo. Other species appear at night and include a variety of reptiles, possums, water monitors and other amphibians (B,L,D).
