Day 1 - Cusco - Tambopata National Park
Fly to Puerto Maldonado and transfer by boat to the lodge. Evening wildlife activity (D).

Days 2-3 - Tambopata National Park
The next two days are spent with wildlife excursions accompanied by naturalist guides. There are wilderness trails, canopy walks, local community visits, fishing, a trip to Lake Sandoval, bird watching and caiman spotting.. Keep watch for the endangered giant river otter, red howler monkeys, macaws, sloths, caimans, anaconda and turtles. Your base is the rustic but elegant Reserva Amazonica lodge, set within a private ecological reserve on the edge of the Tambopata National Park on the banks of the Madre de Dios River. There are 33 thatched cabañas built from local materials with en suite bathroom, lighting by kerosene lamp and each with private verandah.
For a unique and memorable rainforest experience take an overnight adventure in the new Canopy Tree House 27m above the jungle floor. A stay here includes Sundowners, dinner, breakfast and overnight (additional price) (B,L,D).

Day 4 - Tambopata National Park - Lima
Return transfer to Puerto Maldonado for flight to Lima (B).

The majesty of the Amazon rainforest holds a natural attraction for children and teens. Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica is a family-oriented lodge that offers special accommodations, such as bunk beds, or bed railings (upon request); as well as highchairs, child-friendly guides, a children's menu, and a Child's explorer kit with magnetic compass, coloured pencils and muesli bars. There are a range of recommended excursions with special activities for children between the ages of five and twelve.
