A&K Philanthropy
A deep-rooted concern for the natural world infuses each and every Abercrombie & Kent journey.
Abercrombie & Kent believes passionately that travel should both respect the natural environment and benefit the indigenous peoples whose lands we visit. For more than 25 years, we have worked to ensure that human populations, flora and fauna continue to survive and coexist successfully. Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP), guided by Vice Chairman Jorie Butler Kent, facilitates our commitment to socially and ecologically responsible travel worldwide, as well as helping our guests to become actively involved in these efforts.

Earth Hour 2010
2010 WWF Earth Hour was one of the greatest mass demonstrations in history, shutting off lights in homes, offices and public sites to demand new policies and practices to address global climate change.
A&K Sanctuary Retreats supported Earth hour on Saturday 27th March 2010 by switching off all lights, generators and main electrical supplies to our lodges and camps in Botswana, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Guests enjoyed sumptuous meals by candle light and lanterns in the camp or in the bush under the stars.
