Highlights

  • Authentic walking safari
  • Bush camp
  • Experienced and dynamic guide
  • World class game viewing

Day 1 - Lusaka - South Luangwa
You are transferred by light aircraft flight to Mfuwe and the spectacular South Luangwa National Park. The next part of your adventure begins with an afternoon game drive where you are met and transferred to camp (D).
Sanctuary Puku Ridge (Safari Tent)

Days 2 - 4 - South Luangwa
A three hour game drive delivers you to Sanctuary Zebra Plains. During the next three days you explore the region extensively on foot with expert guide Garth Hovell and an armed game scout. You may observe elephants on the riverbank before canoeing to an island for close-ups with resident plains game. See large herds of zebra, buffalo and eland on the open savannah or spot hippos in the Changwa Channel. Follow animal tracks along sandy paths or watch the grass spring back minutes after a puku antelope has passed. It's not just the big animals that are fascinating - termites, dung beetles, chameleons and the prolific bird life all have their stories to tell (B,L,D).
Sanctuary Zebra Plains (Luxury Tent)

DAYS 5 - 6 - South Luangwa
A game drive returns you south to Sanctuary Puku Ridge and a further two days to explore. Rise before dawn each morning for a game drive: your safari guide will introduce you to this superb park and deliver some exciting photographic opportunities. Elephant, lion, wild dog, buffalo and a wide variety of antelope reside in this area, as does the regal leopard. Keep a lookout for the South Luangwa's endemic species, Thornicroft's giraffe and Cookson's wildebeest, and drive along the Luangwa River to see the vibrant carmine bee-eaters nesting in the riverbank walls (B,L,D).
Sanctuary Puku Ridge (Safari Tent)

Day 7 - South Luangwa - Lusaka
Return by light aircraft to Lusaka for onward flight (B).
