This small, intimate eco-lodge has been built by local craftsmen of stone, thatch and wood. Accommodation is in four spacious luxury bungalows and one family villa, each discreetly positioned on the edge of the forest with private wooden terraces, outdoor showers and hammocks, stunning views and direct access to a pristine white sand beach and the azure Indian Ocean waters. Electricity and hot water are solar-powered and a tree-planting project is underway.

Activities include village visits, day and night walks, boat trips into the mangroves, canoeing and snorkelling. Meals are in the open-sided dining area or alfresco with an emphasis on fresh seafood and locally sourced produce.

Why we like it

  • Idyllic coastal location
  • Wood, thatch and stone combine to deliver a rustic Robinson Crusoe experience
  • Unique wildlife encounters, both marine and terrestrial
