The House of MG, Ahmedabad

The House of MG, and its annexes, form the premier boutique heritage hotel in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Ahmedabad.

The House of MG, and its annexes, form the premier boutique heritage hotel in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Ahmedabad. The stately property, built in 1924 as a home for a wealthy textile magnate, has long been renowned for its traditional hospitality, with Mahatma Gandhi first staying here on his arrival from South Africa in 1917. The city’s main heritage attractions, such as the Sidi Saiyad Mosque, Bhadra Fort, Juma Masjid and Manek Chowk, are within easy walking distance.

All 38 beautifully appointed rooms offer modern amenities in a grand yet homely ambience. Wander through meandering corridors to find a relaxing place in courtyards overflowing with greenery. On the terrace, sample the flavours of traditional gujarati cuisine in the renowned restaurant, Agashiye, while the Green House Café offers gujarati and South Indian snacks, as well as continental fare. Cool off in the indoor pool and enjoy the spa and gym facilities. There’s also a unique artisanal store where you can purchase souvenirs, gourmet foods, and exquisite heirloom products.

Just two kilometres from the main hotel are the restored havelis, Mangaldas ni Haveli I and II. They too have all modern facilities, including complimentary WiFi and a café. Guests of these annexes can enjoy all of the facilities at the main hotel.
