Villa Åmot

A working farm up until 1993, Villa Amot is a traditional Norwegian country estate that today welcomes just 10 guests to enjoy the tranquil rural setting and historic accommodations.

A luxury rural hideaway to unwind and disconnect amidst peaceful, untouched nature

A working farm up until 1993, Villa Amot is a traditional Norwegian country estate that today welcomes just 10 guests to enjoy the tranquil rural setting and historic accommodations. Spread across several buildings, a loving conversion has blended old and new, snug and sumptuous, to create a variety of rooms and suites that balance modern comfort with an atmospheric blend of antique furniture, woven rugs, heavy drapes and family portraits, all redolent with history.

Situated in the heart of Norway’s Fjord region, the superlative scenery is the central attraction: mighty, steep-sided fjords penetrate deep inland, towering peaks tumble down into verdant valleys and glaciers glisten in the pristine mountain air, providing ample scope for active, outdoor adventures in an area few tourists visit. One of the best ways to simultaneously explore the open water, striking mountains, and cascading waterfalls is on a private kayak excursion, but you can also enjoy fjord cruises, mountain hikes, fishing and even a birds eye view in a helicopter adventure

Food is an essential ingredient in the Åmot experience and for several years, Åmot has had a close partnership with BARE Restaurant, the first and only Michelin starred restaurant in Bergen. At Åmot, adventure is not only limited to the towering mountains and deep fjords with the modern Nordic culinary delights based on supporting and celebrating the best organic produce of the region’s farmers and suppliers.

Visual art aficionados will be delighted by the estate’s impressive range of paintings, sculptures, and photographs. Åmot’s coveted collection would not be out of place in an art museum, and local pieces blend beautifully with international works.

During your stay at Åmot, you will be welcomed into the local community as you dive deep into daily life in the region. You will be hosted by real people; farmers, captains, chefs, musicians, and storytellers, all with rich and varied tales and experiences that they cannot wait to share.
