The Great Wall of China is a must-see for anyone travelling to China. Touted as one of the greatest feats in human history, travel by foot or cable car to the top of this impressive wall and revel in the expansive mountain views.

When to Go

Booking a luxury holiday during China’s spring and autumn seasons (April - May and September - October) promises beautiful, moderate weather and reprieve from throngs of fellow tourists. Enjoy vibrant fall hues in autumn, or take in one of China’s many ethnic festivals in spring.

For travellers keen to steer clear of queues and crowds, we recommend avoiding the first week in October (Chinese National Day holiday) and the Labor Day holiday, as attractions, transport, and hotels are packed with tour groups, and prices rise considerably.
