Journey Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Goa

Welcome to Goa, where an ever-surprising fusion of east and west promises to delight. Famous for its shimmering white beaches and tropical climate, a few days in this former Portuguese colony will reveal a place unlike anywhere else in India. You will be met by your A&K representative and privately transferred to your hotel, Ahilya by The Sea. Overlooking Coco Beach in a quiet corner of Dolphin Bay, this hotel promises to immerse you in an air of luxurious relaxation as you explore this intriguing region. Settle in, then spend the rest of your day seeking out the impossibly pristine beaches or strolling through the landscaped gardens and enjoy the wide variety of tropical plants and flowers.

Day 2: Goa

Step back to a time of Portuguese rule in the streets of Old Goa. Drive to Dona Paula to soak up views of the magnificent harbour, Mormugão. Pause at the idyllic Miramar Beach before continuing to the charming capital, Panaji. Stroll amongst the white-washed churches and crumbling Portuguese villas along the river. Lose yourself in a feast of spices, colours and textures at the market before heading to India’s only Latin Quarter, Fontainhas. Stop at the Basílica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which holds the remains of St. Francis Xavier, a Jesuit missionary credited with converting thousands in the region. Finish with the works of Goan painter António Xavier Trindade in the Fundação Oriente. Afternoon will be at your leisure to enjoy the amenities at your resort hotel.

Day 3: Goa

Choose how to spend your day. Relax in your serene resort, where your biggest decision is between the infinity or the plunge pool. Or experience the different sides of Goa with a curated experience (additional charge). Embark on a full-day gastronomic adventure and discover a cuisine totally unlike any other on the subcontinent. Visit the markets to procure your coastal and tropical ingredients before joining a Goan family in their home to learn their culinary secrets. Alternatively, head inland to a rural landscape dotted with spice plantations. Join your local guide for a fascinating tour through one the plantations and savour mouth-watering regional dishes to learn firsthand why Goa is famous for its spices. For a unique insight into Goan artistry, head south to the Taluka of Salcete on a half-day heritage tour. Or venture along the coastline to discover the forts of Goa overlooking the Arabian Sea.
