Journey Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Bariloche.

Welcome to Bariloche, the gateway to the Patagonian Lake District. Meet your local A&K representative and receive a private transfer from the airport to your luxury accommodation and your platform for discovery. This city has strong ties to central Europe as many families immigrated from Germany, Switzerland and Northern Italy over the past century. Their influence is easily found in the local culture and, of course, in the mountain-style architecture you will see on your journey. Drop your bags, relax and soak in the views, stroll through the extensive grounds or, for the more active, perhaps choose to head out for a round of golf (additional charge).

Day 2: Bariloche.

Depart in the morning for Bahía López, an easy 30-minute walk takes you deep into the woodland and to the natural balconies at Brazo Tristeza on Lake Nahuel Huapi. The journey itself provides magnificent views across nearby mountains and the ravishing lake. A short ascent leads to another balcony perfect for soaking up stunning Cerro Tronador mountain and its seven glaciers. Return to the base and enjoy a mountain lunch with Patagonian delicacies and wine.  After lunch, return to the hotel where the remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Bariloche.

Enjoy a short half day trek through majestic bamboo woodlands, surrounded by native vegetation and occasional exotic plant for more breathtaking views of the Andes and the lakes. Make a stop enroute to your hotel for a wonderful mate tasting and learn about the flavours and textures that make this drink such an integral part of Latin American culture. The remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy the hotel amenities.

Day 4: Depart Bariloche.

Rise early to watch the sun’s first rays shimmering on the lake. Then, proceed with your private transfer to Bariloche airport for your onward journey.
