Day 1: Lima - Paracas.

Journey south from Lima to Paracas, where the desert meets the sea. The Paracas National Reserve is famous for its wildlife and beaches; it also serves as a gateway to the stunning Ballestas Islands. Home to a plethora of wildlife, you can see an array of bird species on these islands, as well as large colonies of sea lions, whales and dolphins. En route, visit the most famous archaeological site of the region and one of the most important ceremonial centres in Pre-Hispanic America, the Pachacamac temple. Unwind from the journey in your luxury hotel, your gateway to the Nazca Lines.

Day 2: Paracas.

Rise early for your flyover of the intriguing Nazca Lines, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Soar over geometric shapes, some as long as 300 metres, etched on flat plateaus, straight lines and sharp angles carved into the reddish-brown earth. Witness as enigmatic shapes slowly turn into figures of animals, from birds to spiders to monkeys. Unravel the mystery of the ancient pre-Incan culture of the Nazca using the one clue they left behind. Spend the afternoon soaking up your surroundings from the oceanfront pool and lush gardens or choose a luxury picnic at the sand dunes after an amazing drive in 4x4 vehicles (additional charge).

Day 3: Paracas - Lima.

Set out early for your boat ride to the Islas Ballestas, just off the coast of the Paracas National Reserve. Spend a morning exploring the largest natural sanctuary on the Peruvian coast, where the skies and waters teem with gannets, cormorants and pelicans feeding on rich sea-life. Observe Peru’s largest colony of sea lions, or even choose to swim with them (additional charge). Look out for the mysterious Candelabra geoglyph carved in the side of a sand dune. Journey to Lima for your onward journey.
