This morning, head off for an ascent by aerial cableway up Cape Town’s iconic Table Mountain (weather permitting). This afternoon is at leisure to relax at the hotel, explore the waterfront or venture further afield.

Journey beyond the city for a day to explore the famous Cape Winelands, where picturesque vineyards are set against imposing granite peaks, and eye-catching Cape Dutch homesteads nestle under avenues of oaks. Stellenbosch is the centre of the local wine-making industry and is surrounded by hundreds of vineyards. You’ll have the chance to visit some privately owned wineries, which date back hundreds of years, and enjoy a variety of tastings.

Venture south along the Atlantic coast road past the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, at the base of the towering Twelve Apostles. Descend into Hout Bay valley, with its bustling fishing harbour and white sand beach, and on to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve at the end of the Cape Peninsula. Look out for whales and sea birds from the viewing point. On your return, visit Boulders, a lovely beach famous for its colony of endangered jackass penguins, before lunch at a local restaurant.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg where you will connect with your flight to the Madikwe Game Reserve. This afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the Madikwe Game Reserve, keeping your eyes (and camera) peeled for some of Africa’s iconic species, lion, elephant, or the elusive cheetah. Afterwards, settle into your luxurious lodge in the heart of the African bush.

Enjoy two days exploring the Madikwe Game Reserve on foot or by open 4WD vehicle. Sanctuary Makanyane Safari Lodge is located on 1800 hectares of privately owned land incorporated into the magnificent Madikwe Game Reserve. Madikwe consists of 76,500 hectares of malaria-free bushveld and is the setting for one of Africa's biggest translocation of wild game including endangered species such as wild dog and cheetah. The reserve is now home to approximately 66 mammal species, including the Big Five, and roughly 300 bird species.

Today you will return to Johannesburg by air and transfer to your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure. A luxurious retreat, you might choose to wander the beautiful landscaped gardens or take advantage of the other facilities including the Balinese spa, swimming pool and gym.

Today, transfer back to Johannesburg Airport for your flight to Livingstone where you will transfer to your luxurious Sanctuary Retreats lodge, Sussi & Chuma is only a short drive from the world-famous Victoria Falls. Your afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the many activities available at the lodge, including walking safaris, game drives, canoeing, and even fishing excursions for the keen anglers. Those looking to relax can indulge in the on site spa, or drinking in the views from your private deck.

The next two days are at leisure at Sussi & Chuma discovering the beauty of the Zambezi. Experience a guided tour of the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, a visit to Nakatindi village and the local school, a game drive in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, walking safaris, canoeing, fishing, or an early morning or sunset cruise on the river. There are also a range of activities available at additional cost including whitewater rafting, helicopter flights over the falls, or a visit to Livingstone Museum.
