Journey Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Nairobi, Kenya

A personal welcome into the safari capital of Kenya and transfer to your hotel located close to the airport.

Day 2: Nairobi - Loisaba Conservancy.

A flight north this morning to the Loisaba Conservancy, which is situated in the Laikipia Plateau region, and your sophisticated luxury camp which is perched on the edge of an escarpment maximising the breathtaking views across the mottled landscape all the way to Mt Kenya.

Days 3-4: Loisaba Conservancy.

Game drives introduce you to the extraordinary array of resident wildlife here with other activities including mountain biking, camel treks, hiking, horse riding and conservation participation. Join a traditional Samburu guide on an educational walk or visit a traditional Maasai village. For your first night, consider the open-air option of slumbering in a Loisaba Star Bed with sweeping views over an undulating valley and a permanent waterhole, frequented by resident wildlife.

Days 5: Loisaba Conservancy - Masai Mara National Reserve.

Fly south to the boundless plains of the world famous Masai Mara, whose wide-open spaces and abundant wildlife make for exciting and effortless game viewing in this area, considered one of the finest for wildlife in all of Africa. Your vintage safari camp is situated in a small private conservancy in a little visited area of the Mara.

Days 6-7: Masai Mara National Reserve.

Enjoy two days on safari, where your professional guides will enthral you on morning and afternoon game drives, guided bush walks, sundowners and respectful Maasai cultural encounters. The Mara’s vast rolling hills make spotting game an easy prospect and a photographer’s dream. This region features the largest concentration of terrestrial wildlife on earth – the immense wildebeest, zebra and plains game migration that numbers over to 2.5 million animals with some of the highest success rates of iconic species such as lion, elephant and leopard sightings in the business.

Day 8: Masai Mara National Reserve - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Fly to Entebbe and onwards by air southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive at your luxurious Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp, with eight private comfortable, canvas tents situated uniquely inside the national park, meaning you are only minutes away from the start of your gorilla tracking adventure.

Days 9-10: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Bwindi is home to many primates including colobus monkeys and chimpanzees, but is most notable for its population of the critically endangered mountain gorilla. Spend the next two days trekking through the forest to locate one of the habituated gorilla families. The walk is demanding, up and down steep forested slopes and through thick jungle vegetation, however sighting the gorillas in the undergrowth is an inspiring moment! Spend time observing the family as they interact with each other, play and forage.

Day 11: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Depart Entebbe.

Return flight to Entebbe for onward flight connection.
