Journey Itinerary

Day 1: Victoria Falls – Hwange National Park.

Depart Victoria Falls by light aircraft south to Hwange National Park, the country’s largest. Hwange is legendary for its vast array of wildlife, particularly the massive herds of elephant and buffalo. Your base is the exclusive and luxurious Somalisa Camp, situated on a stunning island on the edge of a flood plain where herds gather making for awe-inspiring game viewing year-round.

Days 2–3: Hwange National Park.

Two days to explore Hwange. This park is one of the best for predators – lion, leopard, wild dog and cheetah are regularly sighted, along with the smaller African wildcat, serval, honey badger, civet and spotted hyena. Bird life in the area is also prolific, with more than 400 species found.

Day 4: Hwange National Park - Lake Kariba.

Fly to Lake Kariba where you are transferred to Bumi Hills Safari Lodge, boasting one of Africa’ finest wilderness locations with elevated position on a range of remote hills overlooking the vastness of Lake Kariba.

Days 5-6: Lake Kariba

The next two days are spent exploring Lake Kariba with game viewing by boat and 4WD in the Matusadona National Park plus excellent fishing opportunities. Birdlife is prolific and walking safaris a highlight.

Day 7: Lake Kariba - Mana Pools National Park.

Fly to Mana Pools in the north of the country and transfer by road to Chikwenya. Your camp is perfectly located overlooking floodplains and the might Zambezi River with spectacular views across to the distant blue hills of the towering escarpment on the Zambian side of the river. This Idyllic camp is nestled beneath shady trees with just seven dreamy tents. This area is bursting with a profusion of birds and animals, especially during the dry season from June to October.

Days 8-9: Mana Pools National Park.

Two days here in this beautiful part of the world renowned for its large numbers of elephant, buffalo, hippo and eland. Predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog are also found. Birdlife is superb, particularly for both mopane woodland and riverine species. Chikwenya Camp | BLD

Day 10: Mana Pools National Park - Depart Harare.

Farewell as you end your safari with a flight back to Harare airport.
