A&K Philanthropy (AKP) is proud to mark ten years of helping deaf and disabled children in Tanzania. In 2007, AKP funded the construction of the first school in Arusha specifically designed for children with hearing impairments, mental disabilities and physical disabilities. From that time on, the Ilboru School for Deaf and Disabled Children has enjoyed support from AKP to ensure that the necessary resources are in place for the children to reach their highest potential and lead fulfilling lives.

In the past decade, AKP has funded school supplies, a literacy programme with e-reader books and built a secondary school. All this support has made a measurable impact in the development of these children.

Abercrombie & Kent makes a donation to AKP on behalf of every guest travelling in support of grassroots efforts positively impacting lives and livelihoods in the places A&K guests travel.
