Adventure to Argentina on the inaugural AFR Reader Journey
February 2020

A&K is excited to announce the launch of a new journey series in partnership with our friends at the Australian Financial Review, with the inaugural AFR Readers Journey exploring the wonders of Argentina.

A&K designs journeys for the discerning traveller, providing exclusive access to unforgettable experiences, providing fresh perspective and unmatched depth to a destination. Designed with AFR readers in mind, this journey will appeal to any explorer looking to discover Argentina in style – with luxury accommodation and immersive traditional experiences, plus fine dining and of course wine tastings, with visits to some of the country’s best vineyards. This exclusive polo-inspired A&K journey has been created to showcase some of the country’s captivating traditions, and to see the best polo the world has to offer from VIP seats at the Argentine Open.

Limited to 14 guests, the 10-day Argentinian odyssey is led by famed polo icon Rob Archibald, whose polo
career began playing Banjo Paterson-style bush polo before a long and illustrious career playing on the world stage.  Rob is regarded as one of the finest polo players Australia has produced.

The journey starts in buzzing Buenos Aires, where you’ll be immersed in the rich local atmosphere and enchanting estancia life, with polo and other horseback adventures aplenty. Savour Argentinian asado (flavourful barbeque), Malbec by the glass, and relax amid the luxury and historic charm of your colonial-style estancia.

Next, is an exploration of the dramatic north-west, where the scenery is raw and rugged, and the vineyards produce world-renowned high-altitude wines. Enjoy the wild-west landscapes and take advantage of invitations to some of the most exclusive wineries in Argentina from your base in Cafayate, where polo, golf, horse riding and biking are all on offer.

From there, it’s time to experience the colonial heartland of Argentina in the city of Salta. Your final four nights will be spent at the luxurious Four Seasons Buenos Aires, where you’ll be treated to a performance of the avant-garde Rojo Tango, the perfect cultural expression of this captivating, cosmopolitan city.

Whether you are an avid polo fan, budding sommelier, gourmet or simply a discerning explorer drawn to the allure of Argentina, this is sure to be a high scoring journey from beginning to end.
