Indian Subcontinent

A visit to the India Subcontinent is a sensory adventure, its colours are dazzling and its sights many.

With its kaleidoscope of faiths and people, the Indian subcontinent is consistently colourful and full of character. There are spice-laden markets and places of pilgrimage, beach temples and desert forts. Its culinary traditions are legendary and its monuments number some of the world's most famous. From the high mountains of the Himalaya to the palm-lined backwaters of Kerala, the opulent palaces of Rajasthan to its incredible wildlife, A&K delivers the best of India. It’s beguiling and bewildering in equal measures.

Of course the subcontinent is more than just India. Like a tiny teardrop rolling into the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka is a jewel of dazzlingly white beaches, verdant tea plantations and rainforest peaks, not to mention ancient treasures to explore. Nepal packs a serious punch, with 8 of the world's 14 highest peaks, an abundance of ancient temples and palaces, picturesque Pokhara, and Chitwan National Park, home to extraordinary wildlife including one-horned rhino and Bengal tiger. Next door to Nepal, tiny, unique Bhutan and its hospitable people have embraced tourism with open arms. The rewards here in this secluded Buddhist kingdom are plentiful and well worth the journey.

These destinations work well in combination with an Indian journey or else as an individually focused holiday.
