Zambia

Land of the legendary African walking safari, home of the Victoria Falls and the mighty Zambezi River, Zambia is raw wilderness at its best.

Zambia has long been a sought-after destination for adventure seekers and wildlife enthusiasts alike and has some of the greatest natural scenery on the continent.

It boasts iconic national parks such as Mosi-Oa-Tunya, Lower Zambezi and the South Luangwa which each have their own diverse appeal.

South Luangwa is famed as the home of the walking safari and is one of Africa’s most unspoiled wildlife reserves; the Lower Zambezi, a breathtakingly beautiful part of the country with the mighty Zambezi river running through it, is a haven for exhilarating land and water-based safaris; the lesser visited Kafue National Park is Zambia's largest and boasts one of the greatest diversities of wildlife in Africa while Victoria Falls offers a spectacle unmatched anywhere else and is one of the world’s great natural wonders.

For decades, our team at Abercrombie & Kent has pioneered one-of-a-kind luxury experiences. Zambia’s wealth of natural beauty and culture is something to be shared, and we’re proud to guide you through all its many splendours.

When to Go

Zambia's elevation on a plateau gives it a moderate to tropical climate. There are three seasons; cool and dry from May to August, hot and dry from September to October and warm and wet from November to April. In May, the Victoria Falls are at their most spectacular, when water levels are high. The dry season is generally considered the best time to visit the South Luangwa when walking camps are open. And in the river valleys of the Zambezi and Luangwa it becomes very hot in the month of October. During winter, evening and early morning temperatures can be very cold.
