When to Go

The climate in Tanzania is typically warm all year round but do expect cool nights, especially in the Central Plateau. Coastal areas can be very hot and humid but benefit from a cool sea breeze between June to September.

The area around Mount Kilimanjaro is generally cooler, with temperatures varying between 15ºc to 22ºc depending on the season.

The hottest time to visit Tanzania is between October and February, and the rainy season falls between mid-March to late May.
