Journey Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Nairobi

Welcome to the safari capital of Kenya! You are transferred to your hotel, set on four lush acres in the peaceful suburb of Langata.

Day 2: Nairobi - Lake Elmenteita

This morning, you are driven to Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp, located on the shores of shimmering Lake Elmenteita, a soda lake home to over 400 bird species. An afternoon game drive in the Soysambu Conservancy may reveal buffalo, hyena, zebra, leopard, the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe and much more, including iconic flamingo in and around the lake.

Day 3: Lake Elmenteita

Go in search of East Africa’s famous pink flamingo that feed in the soda lakes surrounding your camp. A visit to the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park may also reveal endangered black and white rhino.

Day 4: Lake Elmenteita - Loisaba

It’s an early start this morning, as you head back to Nairobi to meet your flight to the Loisaba wildlife conservancy. There’s time this afternoon for a gameviewing activity by open 4WD vehicle.

Days 5-6: Loisaba

Enjoy two full days exploring the expansive Loisaba wilderness. Traditional game drives in an open vehicle are available early morning and late afternoon; alternatively, you can view wildlife while riding a horse, camel or mountain bike through the bush. A great way to discover smaller species is on foot with a local Samburu guide. You can also visit a traditional Maasai village or meet the conservancy’s anti-poaching team to learn about their day to day activities.

Day 7: Loisaba - Masai Mara

Fly southwest to the boundless plains of the world-famous Masai Mara. Your home here is in a vintage 1920s-style camp that perfectly captures the adventure and romance of bygone safaris. The reserve’s wide-open spaces and rich biodiversity make for effortless gameviewing, particularly in this corner, considered one of the finest areas for wildlife in all of Africa.

Days 8-9: Masai Mara

Spend the next two full days on safari. The Masai Mara is a photographer’s dream, with plentiful resident lion, elephant, buffalo, cheetah and giraffe. Go on early morning and late afternoon game drives, and in between, perhaps you might like to visit a local village (additional cost). As Cottar’s is located on a private concession, you can also enjoy night drives, nature walks and dining in the bush.

Day 10: Masai Mara - Kenyan Coast

Leave the Mara behind after a morning game drive and early lunch at Cottar’s Camp. Transfer to the airstrip for your flight to the coast. Your laid-back yet luxurious coastal resort sits at the edge of stunning Turtle Bay outside the friendly seaside village of Watamu.

Days 11-12: Kenyan Coast

Take two full days to relax and unwind, enjoying all the facilities of your five-star beach resort. Go whale watching, try stand up paddleboarding, follow forest trails, play a round of golf at a nearby PGA-accredited course, or work your way through the spa and cocktail menus.

Day 13: Watamu - Depart Nairobi

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Nairobi, where your safari concludes.
