Although the Fergana Valley stretches across three Central Asian countries, it is at its most beautiful in eastern Uzbekistan with a backdrop of the Tien Shan mountains. Owing its fertility to two major rivers, the valley has a history over 2,000 years old and an important agricultural heritage. It is also the centre of Central Asia’s silk production.
