Peru by Rail: Andean Explorer

As part of your A&K journey you can choose to explore the Andes on South America’s first luxury sleeper train. One of the highest train journeys on earth exploring ancient kingdoms, natural wonders and rural communities. The Andean Explorer, a Belmond train, takes you through some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery. From Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, traversing the high Andean altiplano, the traditional communities on Lake Titicaca and the UNESCO World Heritage city of Arequipa. There are four routes to choose from of one or two night duration.

DINING CARS
Serving fresh, colourful and seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients from the Peruvian Andes in the two elegant dining carriages. Menus are skilfully designed by chefs from Monasterio, a Belmond Hotel, Cusco.

OBSERVATION CAR
The place to unwind, meet new friends and enjoy the views whilst sipping a Pisco Sour from the bar. Breathe in the Andean air from the open deck of the Observation Car as the train travels through the ever-changing landscape.

LOUNGE CAR
Invite new friends to gather around the baby grand piano and relax in comfortable seating as majestic vistas drift past outside. Share a lively story from the day’s adventures and enjoy a refreshing drink from the bar.

CABINS
Cabins comprise of double, twin or bunk bed configurations, all complete with wardrobe, shower, wash basin and WC. Interiors incorporate Peruvian textures and fabrics and provide a warm, welcoming and relaxing personal sanctuary.
