After much anticipation, from 1 November 2021 Australia’s international borders are progressively reopening with a number of new conditions in place. Likewise, many countries around the world are changing their entry and movement restrictions for receiving international visitors. Australia’s Home Affairs Department is responsible for its international borders and for the rules of leaving and entering Australia. The rules for vaccinated and unvaccinated Australians can vary. More information can be found here.
The states and territories of Australia manage their own borders, flight caps, hotel quarantine programs, testing requirements and other associated regulations.
